dc.description.abstract Reviving the excitement of traveling by train is the underlying basis for my thesis in which I have proposed a new rail and bus center in downtown Lafayette, Indiana, in conjunction with their railroad relocation project along the Wabash River. This station offers modes of transportation and community services and activities, while reflecting the notion of traveling by high-speed passenger trains; and at the same time maintaining a position of social permanence, revealing the strength of the community.
