Abstract

This is an exhibit of a personal collection, formed to meet the requirements of the ID 499 Honors thesis project. Based primarily upon what was available to a collector of moderate means and limited funds, the exhibition is by no means a complete and total one. The purpose is not to show all aspects of the Art Deco movement, but rather to point out the variety and abundance of mass-produced objects in the style. Some more historical than artistic, these mass-produced items are included to show the application of Art Deco characteristics to articles that were used in everyday life.
