Abstract

This thesis allowed me to use expertise gained from my minor in Japanese. Using travel guides, books on culture, personal experiences, and surveys and interviews with current Japanese exchange students; I produced an interesting and informative brochure to be given to future Japanese exchange students. This brochure will contains text both in English and Japanese. The content of the brochure consists of the cultural aspects of daily life in the United States. In my three years of studying Japanese, I have had many opportunities to learn grammar, vocabulary, and writing, yet if I were to visit Japan, there are many things about Japanese daily life and culture that I would not understand.Hopefully, the brochure that I produced will answer some of the similar questions that Japanese exchange students have, thus making their stay at Ball State University more enjoyable.
