Abstract

This work has been an ongoing project since May 1998. Since this time, PrimeTime Pediatrics' implementation and its effects on the community have been analyzed. As part of Cardinal Health System's (CHS) goal, to further the health of the community, CHS Primetime Pediatrics serves the needs of the area's younger population. Upon realizing that this population needed care after normal business hours, this project began with the intention of not only helping children in need during evenings and weekends, but also to provide parents with the convenience of familiar, respectable and easily accessible physicians without the burden and expense of a visit to the Emergency Room.Although PrimeTime's business plan was written during the summer of 1998, its implementation did not begin until May 1999. The project was put on hold due to administrative re-organization at CHS. The project's first and second quarters of business have been analyzed, and inside the reader will find favorable results. Materials that proved to be quite instrumental in this project such as surveys, financial statements and Internet information viewed among administrators and pediatricians are also enclosed.
