dc.description.abstract Without the guidance and expertise of Professor Gary Dean, this project would not have been possible. I would like to thank him for his time and effort in advising this thesis. I would also like to thank the SOA, CAS and the directors of the annual ERM Symposium for promoting research in this area by posting on their websites valuable information like the research done by other actuaries dedicated to the development of such an important new field given the tragedies that strike unprepared enterprises in rough financial times. Finally I would like to thank my mother Mary Huber and my uncle Dennis Dininger for their interest in my topic and advice along the way.
