Unity Week, founded at Ball State University in 1980 and sponsored by the Ball State University Multicultural Center, provides social, cultural and educational enlightenment through events and cultural programming pertaining to diversity and inclusivity. Programming scheduled during this week has included music and theatre performances, demonstrations, prominent guest lectures as part of the MLK Speaker Series, exhibits, variety shows, the Unity Scholarship Pageant, and the Unity Connections Conference.

Ball State University's Unity Connections Conference (formerly known as the University Week Diversity Symposium), provides Ball State University graduate and undergraduate students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to present and attend presentations and discussion and facilitation sessions on topics related to diversity and inclusivity in a broad spectrum of contexts. Also included in the conference are lectures and keynote addresses covering diversity topics. The conference was created by the Unity Week Committee and Student Government Association in 2012 to bring together students, faculty, and staff of Ball State University to learn more about themselves and others as multicultural beings, as well as to celebrate diversity.
