dc.description.abstract The design process can be aided using frameworks that act not only as a catalyst, but also a guide. However, the design process is not something that can ever be replicated exactly more than once. So how does a designer progress through the design process to eventually arrive at what seems to be a completed and finished product? While I cannot answer that question specifically, I have documented the intricate process by which I moved through the design process throughout one semester in an architectural studio. By documenting my process and the rationale for the decisions I made, I was able to make generalizations about the way designers think and make decisions, the frameworks they use to efficiently create, and the resources they utilize.
