Abstract:
This study has presented empirical evidence regarding the perceived sport involvement of parents for their high school children. To date, no research has specifically investigated parental involvement in sport using the PAR Theory, thus ensuring the significance of the study. Results will add to the literature on scholastic parental involvement while providing empirical data on the applicability of the PAR Theory to scholastic sport. Ultimately, this research could aid in educational efforts for parents which could eventually serve to improve the overall high school athletic experience for parents and their children.
