Abstract:
Medically speaking, the leading causes of death among adult women in the U.S. include heart disease, stoke, cancer and chronic lower respiratory disease. But I believe there's a fifth, invasive and damaging disease to be aware of; one that has successfully infected every woman on Earth, spreading rampantly with the outbreak of technology over the last fifteen years. The sickness' name is shame, which, as shame researcher Brene’ Brown, PH.D., LMSW, describes, is the intensely painful feeling or experience of believing that we are flawed and therefore unworthy of love and belonging. Positively Lovely challenges young women to become redeemed and restored through a comprehensive, three-part journey. From changing our perception of beauty, to living healthier lives, to managing stress, seeking fellowship and inspiring the world, this inspirational book is based on a progression of action that moves women from "I'll never be good enough," to positively “I am a positively lovely woman of Christ who was made to inspire and spread compassion."
