Abstract:
The Significance of Music emphasizes the significance of music and its powerful effects on humanity through the voices of a diverse group of music lovers. Throughout the documentary, participants share stories and insights on music's impacts on their lives. In addition, they shed light on music's importance to the world as a whole. Music educators, directors, musicians, and listeners alike all search to find the answer to the baffling question: "What is music?" In a way, they were set up with a trick question. Is there really an answer? They couldn't seem to come up with one. In an attempt to define the indefinable, this project explores the importance behind not just what music is, but what music does.
