Abstract:
This project consists of a YouTube channel containing 24 videos that present widely-used physics lecture demonstrations in real time and slow motion. When these demonstrations are presented live, it is often difficult for students to effectively observe the underlying phenomena because they occur too quickly or because the student is distracted by other events taking place in an often complex process. Videos of these demonstrations offer students an opportunity to view the demonstrations from an advantageous perspective and slow-motion videos in particular reveal details that can lead to a much deeper understanding of the phenomena being studied. Each of the videos in this collection is accompanied by a detailed description of the physical phenomena being demonstrated.
