Abstract:
Archaeology is important around the world, possibly more today than ever before. With the increasing instability in many archaeologically rich parts of the world, there is an ever increasing danger that these resources could be lost forever. Increasing threats from both organized and unorganized looters poses a threat to the stability of archaeological sites. This examination studies the relationships and individual problems that these regions face, as well as looking at common problems that appear across the globe. I analyze this criminal behavior and look for possible solutions that could help rectify this growing issue.
