dc.description.abstract There is nothing more human than the act of telling stories. More than mere entertainment, stories are the way we pass down our culture from generation to generation. Stories aimed at children and young adults are important because of their ability to shape the worldview. Teenage girls need stories that give them role models and a desire to succeed. My thesis contains the first three chapters of a young adult novel about the goddess Hestia. en_US
