Abstract:
With air travel being a prevalent way of traveling, there are many ways that the processes
can be inefficient and dissatisfying to a traveler. This creative project explored ways in which
airlines and airports can improve the efficiency of moving large numbers of travelers through an
airport while maintaining the heightened health standards initiated since the onset of the COVID-
19 pandemic.
The use of design thinking helped to guide this creative project by bringing to light the
breakdowns of air travel and providing potential solutions to these breakdowns. The empathy
research provided a problem space that guided this creative project. The ideation session
provided solutions for the problem spaces defined. Finally, a prototype was created to
demonstrate these solutions.
