Abstract:
This creative project has examined and analyzed the problem space of adolescent dating
violence, specifically with junior high and middle school-aged individuals. Both scholarly
review of literature and empathy sessions with junior high and middle school counselors or
therapists were used to inform existing issues and needs in the problem space. These existing
issues and needs were then directly addressed through the development of a toolkit for middle
school counselors. The toolkit includes a website with educational resources, a speaker series
with virtual and live speakers, and an Instagram account. Future development of this toolkit
would include working with junior high and middle school counselors or therapists outside of a
pandemic environment and working with them to develop additional tools or resources.
