Abstract:
The following paper is an examination of historical, social and data concerning the Ukraine to
identify trends of intergenerational trauma. A recent historical timeline is included, examining
key traumatic events especially under the Soviet Union. Using a framework of identifying
intergenerational trauma, facets of Ukrainian society are then examined. The identified effects of
intergenerational trauma are then crossed with the analysis of data available for categories that
align with dimensions of coping. The examination then turns to what the future could hold,
looking at the current situation with Russia.
