This research looks into possibilities of applying BRT system in historic cities, especially in the Asia region. A corridor was identified in an historic city, Suzhou, China, to explore the guidelines and ways of implementing BRT on the existing road conditions. This paper presents a complete analysis of the present conditions of the old town and the road network system for corridor study. Apart from design guidelines of BRT this paper also discussed the importance of integrating BRT with other transportation modes to form a whole city transportation network. This document serves as a guide for developing a BRT corridor on any historic cities in China.
