Abstract

This creative project concerns itself with the design and development of a unique light control system. This lighting system is mobile, compact and versatile for use as stage lighting for transient musical Groups. The project begins with a study of light control devices previously used by transient musical groups, and study also of requirements for a light control system utilizing recent electronic advances. Most recently, a new solid-state device, the triac, has become available. This device allows for considerable power switching in a confined or limited space. This light control system has many preset color patterns, and the capacity to mix and set new colors.
