Abstract:
In an effort to find out why people comply or don’t comply to Adult Fitness Programs, the author of this paper conducted a literature search on compliance from all areas of health science. Topics explored in the literature review include: the health professional, the patient, the treatment, social favors, morphological and physiological factors, motivational factors and additional related factors. Information from the review of literature was used to construct a general questionnaire. It is hoped that the questionnaire will be used as a basis for future screening models for potential non-compliers. These individuals can then be appropriately reinforced. It is hoped also that this questionnaire will lend itself to making improvements in the existing Ball State University Adult Fitness Program.
