dc.description.abstract This research paper examines the experiences of African American Resident Assistants at a Predominantly White Institution. It is a qualitative study investigating the possibilities of differences in cultural values between African American Resident Assistants and the predominately white staff with whom they work. The literature reflects the key aspects of being African American at a Predominantly White Institution and the role of a Resident Assistant. The findings are presented within the context of ten interview questions ask of each participant. The conclusions include discussion of appearance of cultural values, racial overtones in the Resident Assistant position and the overall experience of learning in the Resident Assistant Position. Finally, suggestions for further research are presented. en_US
