Abstract

The purpose of this project of this creative project was to create an Honors 100 mentor manual for the Honors College at Ball State University. The data used to develop this manual included a comprehensive review of the literature, information pertaining to the Honors 100 program at Ball State University, an analysis of similar peer mentoring courses at other eight other institutions, and the analysis of Honors 100 topics used by previous peer mentors. The nine lessons included an introduction to the course, an overview of campus resources, an introduction to Muncie, Indiana, an overview of service opportunities, a discussion about dream jobs and future plans, goal setting, career resources, and wellness. The final lesson was designed by the peer mentor. The final product included important course documents such as lesson plans and supplemental handouts.
