Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to create a background of information acquired through the preparation off a graduate percussion recital. Such a program should have a high degree of technical difficulty and be a challenge to the performer. The performance should be artistically gratifying to both player and listener. It should consist of a variety of quality music written for percussion.The value of such a study and preparation of the recital were evidenced by the amount of excellent literature available. The recital needed to be selected and prepared in such a way to be of appropriate historical and musical taste.
