Abstract:
It has been speculated that longevity of service may have an impact on police job satisfaction. This study utilized the Muncie Police Department located in Muncie, Indiana to test the utility of Paul Spector's Job Satisfaction Survey. Analysis revealed that the means were consistent with Paul Spector's norms for police officers. A Pearson's Correlation of each of the subsets to longevity found that results vary, but tended not to support the hypothesis that longevity was associated with job satisfaction.
