Abstract:
Constant change in the nonprofit environment in diversity and geography along with fiscal, legal, and marketization has brought to the foreground the impending necessity to understand and better manage the nonprofit sector. Where lines are blurred pertaining to all areas from a simple label of this sector, to creating a basic history, to understanding the role of nonprofits, how can management personnel take this virtually misunderstood sector and create an understanding of its function and allow the organizations themselves, the donors, and cliente create a better atmosphere for success?Managers must look at the theoretical and legal history of nonprofits. They must also acknowledge and accept the multi-function of nonprofits, yet understand that there is a simple mission behind it all. If nonprofit managers do not take heed to donor surveys, court rulings, legislation, client questionnaires, and the markets this sector will become under siege and more than a job will be lost- the vision it self will be.
