Abstract

The purpose of the research described herein is to determine if CT scanners can be used for high Dose Rate Gynecological Brachytherapy. and if so. how useful they can he compared to traditional flat x-ray machines. The question arises from the appearance of artifacts which occlude part of CT images which contain metal. A more explicit description of the problem will follow in the introduction and background sections. and the methodology used to overcome the problem and the results obtained will be discussed in the procedure, analysis. and results sections.
