dc.description.abstract The purpose of this study was to determine the unique aspects of the college choice process for Honors students at Ball State University. The research consisted of a Q sort, followed by a focus group discussion, allowing a dialogue about their experiences as prospective students. A total of fourteen students participated in two research sessions conducted by the researcher. The Q sorts returned three factors, or sets of statements that students ranked as important to their college choice. The first factor indicated that students found Ball State to be all-inclusive as an institution. The second factor, reflecting the non-honors student perspective, indicated that students believed Ball State to meet all their needs and some of their wants, too. Finally, the third factor reflected the perception that Ball State was a good value for the cost. Recommendations included a closer connection from the Honors College to the Admissions and Orientation offices. en_US
