Abstract:
The purpose of this research paper is to examine Mid-American conference schools and their Title IX compliance.Title IX has been making headlines since the mid-seventies. Both men and women alike are using Title IX for gender equality. Title IX and its effects have resulted in many changes, especially at the collegiate level.Title IX, as determined by The Office of Civil Rights, examines three areas of an athletic department's compliance: (1) athletic and financial assistance; (2) other non-financial program areas; and, (3) the accommodation of athletic interests and abilities of students (Lopiano, 1994).
