dc.description.abstract Nursing faculty expect first-attempt success of baccalaureate (BSN) nursing graduates on the NCLEX-RN. It is important for faculty to identify at-risk students prior to graduation to provide timely remediation (Sayles, Shelton, & Powell, 2003). The purpose of this correlational study is to examine the relationship between pre-graduation performance on the Educational Resources Inc. (ERI) RN Assessment test and first-attempt NCLEX-RN success among BSN graduates. Data on test scores will be obtained from Bethel College School of Nursing in Mishawaka. Bethel has been using the ERI RN Assessment test since 2000 and has been tracking both graduates' scores on the test as well as NCLEX pass rates. Approximately 100 students' records from 2002-2008 will be examined, and a Pearson r coefficient will be used to analyze data. A chart will be developed to record the data including demographic data of GPA, gender, age at graduation, and ethnicity. Confidentiality of all Bethel's records and data will be maintained throughout the study. Cumulative data will be reported anonymously. Findings will provide information about at-risk students for NCLEX-RN and identify needs for intervention for future students. en_US
