Abstract:
In this thesis, I intend to prove whether a Chicago School of architecture exists today. This thesis is divided into three parts. Part One establishes the criteria for the term "school" using the original Chicago School as an example. Part Two examines the contemporary architecture of Chicago according to the criteria outlined in Part One. Finally, Part Three demonstrates how this issue, that is - whether there is a contemporary Chicago School, might influence an actual design project sited in the city.
