dc.description.abstract Taking the form of a creative portfolio, this project documents the conception of Hubcap Art, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the support and promotion of literature, music, the visual arts, and performance. The idea is developed through the publication of a poetry journal and chapbooks, sponsorship of poetry readings, music recording projects, the planning of an arts directory, and a series of dialogues. Direct participation in poetry and music permits various aspects of production, promotion, finance, and business management in the arts to be explored. The project concludes with an imaginative interview, held several years in the future, reflecting on the beginnings of what was to become a highly successful enterprise in the arts.
