This paper looks at Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book, and the adaptation created by the Walt Disney Studios. It compares and contrasts the two works in the areas of characterization and tone. A brief background of Kipling and Disney prelude the comparison, looking at the lives of each and providing possible explanations as to why each work turned out the way it did.
