Abstract:
Domestic violence is a prevalent problem in Delaware County. Community members must make a concerted commitment to social justice in order to end the silence that victims face. Through the retelling of the stories of several clients from A Better Way, a domestic violence shelter located in Muncie, I illustrate the challenges that the women face in rebuilding their lives. Supported with sociological research, I also examine social factors that affect achievement and serve as predictors of revictimization.
