dc.description.abstract The purpose of this thesis is to determine whether "overhead costs" in Indiana manufacturing companies can be classified by major types of resources and support activities. In order to accomplish this purpose, a survey of Indiana manufacturing companies was conducted. The results of the survey were then compiled and analyzed. This work includes an extensive background discussion, a summary of the methodology used, the results of the survey and the conclusions made, and a detailed discussion of responses to individual questions.
