Abstract:
This calendar of Grant County History focuses on two categories of events that have taken place within the county: the founding of the county, with historical references to the first settlers in Grant County, and positive historical or newsworthy events that have occurred throughout the county since its beginnings.. Each day of the year features a concise piece of history about Grant County, as well as the year when the history occurred. In conducting research for this calendar, some items of historical importance were not specifically documented, including both a month and day. In these instances, only the information and the year could be traced. The bottom portion of this calendar showcases the building that best represents all the cities and towns within Grant County: the Grant County Courthouse, located in the county seat of Marion. This ink drawing was completed by recent Ball State graduate Craig Roush.
