Abstract:
Using information gained from an internship, this thesis found what attributes make a gas station successful. Information from gas station surveys, done in Ohio and Kentucky, were used to create a statistical summary of twelve gas stations. Then, through the use of stepwise regression analysis, I found that the number of employees and the average distance of competition from a station has a direct correlation with gas station sales. Throughout this thesis, I explain my data collection methods, what statistics I can draw, and show the regression model and equation that explains my conclusion. I also summarize several other gas stations studies that use other criteria to research stations.
