dc.description.abstract The aim of this thesis is to heighten the awareness of everyone involved in the education process, primarily in the secondary school setting, concerning the creation of an environment that nurtures a student's innate need to succeed. Inside, the creation phase consists of an exploration of classroom management styles of selected educators and suggestions for strengthening the self esteem of young adolescents. Following this, the paper focuses on the essentials for maintenance of a carefully constructed classroom. The essential components include dealing with conflicts and communicating effectively. Finally, stress is given to the need for educators to view the profession as more than a source for knowledge. Rather, it is the duty of a teacher to enhance the lives of young, impressionable adolescents so that they become responsible citizens.
