Abstract:
People do not usually become aware of law enforcement until they are the ones in trouble with the law. It is far to common for college students to enter the Prosecutor's Office, not for learning reasons, but because of a late night mistake. This bad experience leads to a negative image for the Prosecutor's Office. This confusion, and personal interests lead this intern to applying for an internship with the Delaware County Prosecutor's Office during the summer of 2004. It was an exercise not only in professional growth, but personal as well. In this paper this intern presents people with an in-depth and personal look at the world of the Prosecutor's Office. The intern will present the Office from an insider's point of view with the goal of educating people about the office that they usually only need when they are in trouble with the law. To further the reader's knowledge there is a lengthy discussion on the history of the Prosecutor's Office. It also goes into detail on the current faculty, as well as the future of the Office. Later in this paper this intern will present her feelings on how she grew from said internship, as well as how she grew during her first summer as an adult. This summer was a lesson in reality, and showed in stark detail the faults on blessings of this intern. Supplemental, and important papers from the Prosecutor's Office are also included.
