Abstract

Solid phase extraction is rapidly becoming the most widely used method of f pesticide extractions from aqueous samples. This thesis studies method development of both liquid/liquid extractions and liquid/solid extractions of malathion from fruit and water samples. Extract analyses were by gas chromatography with a flame ionization detector. Both ‘home-made' cartridges and commercial cartridges were used in the solid phase extraction of malathion from water samples. Comparisons between the three separate methods were drawn and relative efficiencies discussed.
