Abstract:
This thesis is a study of homophobic attitudes and whether these attitudes exist in college fraternities and sororities. The main focus of the paper is a comprehensive study of the Greek system at Ball State University. The study focused on homophobic attitudes that exist in recruitment, membership retention, the comfort level that exists in discussing homosexual issues, and the level that members publicly or privately denounce homosexuality. The paper also includes a literature review and conclusions based on the study.
