Abstract:
The chemistry department at Ball State is severely underrated and not appreciated in the way that it should be. The professors in this department are arguably the smartest people on campus and always have the student's interest at heart. The equipment that Ball State has provided for the department is top of the line and unlike other schools; students get a chance to have a hands on experience with these instruments. While I have been at Ball State I have had the opportunity to do undergraduate research in biochemistry. This experience is one that opened up doors to graduate school and allowed me to get some sort of on-the-job training without leaving the comfort of campus. The combination of the department at Ball State University and the program in itself has made a major impact on my life. In this thesis I will discuss my undergraduate research and highlight the department in a scrapbook.
