Just a mother : an honors thesis (HONRS 499)

Abstract

Decades after the preliminary successes brought about by the Women's Rights Movement, many women are choosing to forgo career advancement in order to stay at home and raise their children. My film is about Meredith Proctor, a married, college educated woman who chooses to stay home to care for her three young girls. The film details the reasoning behind her decision to stay at home and her goals for the future. The purpose of the film is to explore the connection between the advancement of women in general and her choice in particular.
