Abstract

This creative project, through examining four case studies, provides recommendations for modifications to the current interpretation practices currently in place at Battleship MemorialPark in Mobile, AL. The information gleaned from the National Museum of the United States Air Force, The Battleship North Carolina, the National World War II Museum and the Vulcan Museum in Birmingham, AL, reaffirmed the need for the inclusion of new interpretive technologies at Battleship Memorial Park. Recommendations are made based off of the information provided by the aforementioned case studies with regard to interpretive strategies, educational programing, overall site organization and potential funding outlets. Through the implementation of this project's recommendations, Battleship Memorial Park will increase visitation, create educational opportunities, offer an enhanced visitor experience and add to funding already in place.
