Abstract

This creative project is designed to provide a hands-on approach to learning history in a high school physics classroom. Current research in inquiry-based pedagogy is included to support the educational context of this lesson. The goal of the project is to familiarize high school students with the historical origins of physics as laid out in the Indiana State Standards for Physics I. Each historical figure is addressed and an inquiry based lab is given to use in the classroom. Sample data is given for each lab so that high school physics teachers can easily recreate these labs in their own classrooms.
