Abstract
Smaller cities located across the Midwest are becoming more known for their lack of amenities and poor retention of young adult professionals. These same cities have vacant or dilapidated buildings that could be converted into spaces that give communities the resources they have been desperately needing. I focus specifically on Warsaw, Indiana. Warsaw has a Marsh grocery store located near their downtown. I gathered research and networked with many in the construction, real estate, and economic development industries to theoretically restore the empty Marsh and create an environment that provides more rental-housing opportunities, new jobs, retail space for the community to utilize, and further develop a stereotypically known small town.
