Abstract
This qualitative study described the attitudes and beliefs about leadership held by five resident assistants at a mid western state university. This study identified several ways in which resident assistant leadership is unique from other forms of leadership. Skills resident assistants view as necessary to be effective leaders were also identified. This study will be useful for anyone with a vested interest in seeing resident assistants develop, or wishing to study leadership among a unique population.
