Abstract
This creative project has been planned to cover a limited area of development in furniture making of colonial America. Six basic styles of turned chairs have been covered, with illustrations and measured drawings supplementing the text material. From the furniture of the Colonial period, this book was written to gather various facts concerning design, materials, and construction of the chairs of this period. The development and the organization of this book have been oriented to present facts formerly available only in fragments or portions of previously written books. It is hoped that the information presented will be of value to anyone interested in this aspect of period furniture.
