Abstract

The purpose of this creative project was to prepare an organized planning tool and hall director manual for the Cardinal Sophomore Immersion Program at Ball State University. The goal of this manual was to provide information that supports creation of a living learning community where students were challenged to build new relationships, explore through strategic programmatic events, and were supported through connection with campus services. Information was gathered in a literature review on past conference presentations, studies on student development and research on sophomore students. Sophomore programs at other institutions, consultation with experts, and new tools were gathered to create a program manual. The manual included information on programs, advertisements, service, support and assessment of sophomore students' needs.
