Abstract
Many places in the United States lack affordable housing for low- and moderate-income families. There is no county in the nation that provides a fair market rent for two-bedroom apartment to an individual earning the local minimum wage. There is an affordable housing crisis across the nation that needs to be addressed. This research paper examines New Jersey, Massachusetts, and California’s affordable housing policies and analyzes which program is most successful. The most successful program is then analyzed to fit Indiana and the paper discusses the implications.
