Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of successful football teams on alumni giving. This study also attempted to examine the opinions of athletic directors regarding the impact of an athletic program's success on alumni giving. Participants (N=45) for this study were chosen from Historically Black Colleges and Universities with football programs.Research findings revealed that a significant relationship between a successful football team and alumni donations existed in the year 2001. This researcher also concluded that other factors beyond winning positively impacts alumni donations.
