A*Kin: a comic of discovery, facing self-doubt, and finding our own joy

Inspired by my journey of growth and discovery in 2022, this comic focuses on an art manikin doll come-to-life. They adopt the name “A*Kin” and discover their own sudden liveliness as well as their place in the world around them; however, challenges against inner darkness and self-doubt lay ahead to be conquered. In order to capture a childlike sense of wonder and awe, each page’s title begins with “Discovery of,” reminiscent of themes of discovery in early childhood programming such as Little People.
